On October 28, about 40 members of the Global Talent College Social Contribution Group of YU (President CHOI Oe-chool) consisting of Chinese and Vietnamese students visited Gyeongsan Jain Danoje Preservation Association for a field trip to local traditional culture. On that day, YU students had a time to experience a variety of activities for helping farm work, making paper flowers for Danoje, and visiting the Han General's historic site and to learn about the Gyeongsan Jain Danoje, a national intangible cultural asset, and the need to preserve local traditional culture, starting with the purification of the Gaekjeon Forest in Jain-myeon, Gyeongsan-si.

It was a good opportunity to do volunteer work with my friends for local community and to experience Korean traditional culture.”

KIM Bong-seok, a national intangible cultural heritage transmission educator, said, “It was a meaningful time to inform foreign students attending YU about the value and need for transmission of the Gyeongsan Jain Danoje, a national intangible cultural heritage. I hope that this program carries an opportunity to expand the areas for mutual cooperation between YU and the local community.”
